Why E-Invoicing Matters
The EU is pushing for mandatory e-invoicing across all member states as part of the ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) initiative. The goal is to reduce the €50 billion VAT gap, streamline cross-border trade, and modernize business processes.
For businesses, this means significant changes to how invoices are created, sent, and received. Getting ready now means avoiding last-minute scrambles and potential penalties.
Key deadlines
- Germany: Reception mandatory since Jan 2025
- Belgium: Full B2B mandate Jan 2026
- France: B2B mandate Sept 2026
- EU-wide: All B2B by July 2030
